Found on a photoset of Peter and Stiles from the last episode.
I’m really interested in how Stiles is the only useful one in this episode especially when this episode highlighted various characters’ different strengths. What exactly did Stiles do that was so useful?
I mean, since Scott’s efforts obviously don’t mean a thing to the people in this fandom…
Stiles didn’t stop the Alphas or Jennifer/Julia. He couldn’t even hold his own against them for very long because he’s human and they’re not.
Stiles brought a wooden bat (not even one made out of mountain ash) to a werewolf fight and seemed surprised that it broke apart.
Stiles had no successful fight scenes in that episode and wasn’t important enough for any of the villains to see him as a threat at all. (And he’s never had successful fight scenes so… hm)
Stiles had no plan B (regardless of what people keep saying, he was pretty clear about not having a plan B).
What Stiles did do that episode was help/protect Cora and get her breathing again. That was pretty much it. I have no idea how that makes him the only useful one. I mean, Derek’s a flop alpha, but he’s also a werewolf and can take lots of damage/deal lots of damage. And Scott’s the friggen TRUE ALPHA. The story’s about him and his growth and how useful he is.
Stiles was literally only useful to Peter in Season 1 and that was only for a brief moment. Lydia was useful in Season 2 for his gains. But throughout it all, the only character that Peter would think of as the most or the only useful one out of the trio of Scott, Stiles, and Derek is Scott.
Scott’s the true alpha.
Scott’s the one that has immense control over his powers despite the learning curve.
Scott’s the one everyone wants.
Scott has the best plans (compared to well… derek…).
Peter has looked to Scott for their plans in Season 3 and wanted him to join his pack in Season 1 because Scott is useful to Peter (and is generally awesome but I think we all get that…).
Saying that Peter would look at Stiles and think that Stiles is the ONLY useful person in the group (despite his humanity and utter lack of fighting capability) and that he should take the bite literally erases the fact that aside from Matt, all of the bad guys in Beacon Hills want Scott because of his potential and his power.
It’s erasing the fact that Scott’s milkshake brings all the villains to the yard and they don’t give a flying fig about what Stiles is cooking unless it can get Scott to come to their side.
I’m so sick of people acting like Stiles is some godly character. He’s snarky and he’s cute, but he’s not the be all and end all of Teen Wolf. He’s the Xander of the group (sexism and all) and watching people constantly act like he’s the better person and most important person is just gross as heck.
Buffy the Vampire Slayer wasn’t about Xander and Teen Wolf isn’t about (the very human) Stiles.
